WRRC responds to reports of animals that are injured, orphaned, trapped, or displaced — often in cities or towns around Bengaluru. These can include birds, mammals, reptiles, and primates like macaques and lorises. Beyond rescue, WRRC also runs campaigns to stop cruelty and educate people through outreach about wildlife rights and conservation.
WRRC works with Authorities and Public rescues with help of helpline +91 88840 23100, rescue teams and volunteers that will collect the animal and bring it to a facility for care.
Our recovering guests are placed in appropriate enclosures. They are fed species-appropriate, nutritious food and kept in calm, secure areas to recover. Veterinary care and a balanced diet help heal injuries and strengthen health .Quiet spaces and enrichment keep them calm and encourage natural behaviours. Birds get aviaries; reptiles get suitable pits; primates have climbing space — reducing stress and aiding recovery.Once an animal is healthy and able to survive on its own, it’s released back to its habitat.
WRRC rescues injured, trafficked, and orphaned Slender Lorises provides medical care, rehabilitation, and releases them back into the wild.We also conduct awareness programs to fight myths and illegal trade.

Urban expansion and fear-driven reactions cause serious cruelty and injuries to snakes. WRRC rescues many such victims every year
Snakes get stuck in glue traps meant for rats. They suffer-Torn skin and scales, dislocated jaws and spine injuries, Extreme stress and slow death if not rescued in time. Snakes hiding in soil, debris, or burrows are crushed by digging machines and heavy machinery. Many others are Beaten with sticks, rods, or stones.Run over deliberately by vehicles. These acts are driven by fear and myths, even when the snake is non-venomous. Snakes are sometimes attacked using: Acid, phenyl, kerosene, or boiling water. If you wish to donate towards them
Monkeys are frequently displaced and injured due to the thinning boundary between forests and urban areas. They are common victims of road accidents and electrocution from power cables spanning their canopy paths. Furthermore, they suffer from dog bites and injuries sustained in territorial fights as their natural habitats shrink. Many are also displaced by human-wildlife conflict or are found in distress after being illegally kept as pets in unsuitable conditions.

Atrocities faced by kites
Urban environments face constant threats from human infrastructure. A primary cause of injury is the use of Chinese manja, a glass-coated string that causes deep, often fatal, lacerations to wings and limbs during flight. Additionally, these raptors frequently suffer from head trauma due to high-speed collisions with glass buildings and electrocution when they land on uninsulated high-voltage power lines.

Atrocities faced by Parakeets
Parakeets are primarily affected by the illegal wildlife trade and the pet industry. It is a legal offense to keep indigenous parakeets as pets, yet many are still captured from the wild, leading to trafficking injuries and the discovery of abandoned chicks. Many birds are eventually surrendered after living in confined spaces that cause muscle atrophy and feather plucking, or they are found displaced after escaping or being released into environments where they can no longer fend for themselves.

Atrocities faced by crows

They face a high risk of electrocution on transformers and power lines, as well as a variety of physical injuries resulting from entanglement in synthetic debris or collisions with moving vehicles.
