The Ashraya Hastha Trust

This project addresses severe physical and psychological distress captive elephants often endure due to inadequate conditions, aiming to provide sanctuary and restore their dignity and health. The main goals are achieving better physical and psychological health and establishing overall better Elephant management systems at the WRRC ECF. Key activities include providing nutritious feed, implementing enrichment activities, setting up a preventative healthcare program, and conducting key research on elephant behavior to enhance daily routines and management practices.

Animal Aid Abroad, Australia commenced its support for the WRRC Elephant Care Facility (ECF) focusing specifically on essential provisions for the captive elephants. This targeted assistance ensures the operational needs of the facility are met by contributing directly to the procurement of Fodder, Medicals, and Supplements. As an international non-profit organization, Animal Aid Abroad (AAA) is dedicated to improving the treatment and status of working animals in developing countries, working through partnerships to provide critical aid, medical treatment, and education to relieve suffering globally. Their involvement with the ECF aligns with their mission to support animal welfare charities and ensure proper care for animals in need.
